The Wonders Of Apple Cider Vinegar

I get very excited about apple cider vinegar, hence me writing about it ahead of time. Apple cider vinegar is incredible. Not only does it have all sorts of health benefits and can fight off all sorts of ailments, it helps with household chores in a non-toxic way. And it’s just so easy to make and helps prevent waste when you have a glut or a lot of windfall.

For Health Issues, I use it…

  • To help with indigestion – I mix a tsp of bicarb with a small glass of ACV. Wait for the fizz to stop and gulp it down.

  • To help with diarhhoea - if the cause of the illness is due to a bacterial infection, the antibiotic properties of ACV can fight it off.

  • To ward off illness. At the first sign of illness, I mix one or two tbsp of ACV with a glass of water and drink it down.

  • To soothe a sore throat or cold symptoms. I mix one or tbsp of ACV with warm water and a tsp of honey.

There are claims that is helps fight more serious disease like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, high cholesterol and also weight issues.

In the kitchen, I use it….

  • To make a rinse to wash fruit and veg. Recipe below

  • To extract minerals from bones when making broths, I add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar.

  • To make delicious and healthy salad dressings. Recipe below

  • As an antibacterial cleaner. Recipe below.

I’m doing a daily dance around my apple tree trying to encourage it to give me loads more healthy apples. If it’s anything like last year, there should be loads to go around!!
